Metro Vancouver

Metro Vancouver comprises 22 municipalities, one electoral area, and one treaty First Nation. Through Metro Vancouver, each representative has a say in how the region is run. The GVRD, GVWD and GVSDD Boards of Directors comprise mayors, councillors, electoral area director, and Chief from the federation on a “representation by population” basis. Metro Vancouver is committed to: delivering essential utility services, such as drinking water, sewage treatment, recycling and garbage disposal, economically and effectively on a regional basis, maintaining and enhancing the quality of life in our region by managing and planning growth and development and protecting air quality and green spaces.
